The film follows the owners of the authentic coffee, tea, and spice shop 't Zonnetje in Amsterdam, which was founded in 1642. In an era where large chains are increasingly gaining market share, the shop continues to fight for its survival. However, the focus is not on the commercial challenges but on the cultural value of such traditional stores. Through the stories of the owners, it becomes clear how these businesses represent the soul of Amsterdam and why the loss of such shops would be a significant loss to the city.
